Nancy Folbre is Director of the Program on Gender and Care Work at the Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Senior Fellow of the Levy Institute at Bard College. Her research explores the interface between political economy and feminist theory.
Join us as Dr. Folbre explains how economic theory offers some important tools to analyze social structure and individual choice. She will discuss the ways in which game theory, bargaining models, and concepts of exploitation can enrich the new interdisciplinary paradigm of feminist theory and our understanding of the relationship between patriarchy and forms of inequality based on race/ethnicity, citizenship, sexual orientation, etc.
