Michelle Eccellente Stevenson (B.A. ’92) double majored in Sociology and Political Science and was the keynote student speaker at the December 1992 commencement ceremony. We are proud to announce she will be one of ten speakers at TEDx Cole Park. The theme of the event is “connect” and she’ll be talking about “How Caring Connects Us”.

Michelle has always been a “creative-type.” Born in West Germany to a military family, her earliest memories involve needing to observe, adapt, and navigate her ever-changing relationships to people and places. Creativity, in all forms, is especially important to Michelle and influences her life path.

The bulk of Michelle’s career was spent in the training and development sector, working for major corporations as an educator. Teaching others, speaking in front of others, is Michelle’s calling. Later on, she discovered her artistic side and she is currently an abstract artist and writer. Clients purchase Michelle’s work because it is bold, expressive, speaks to them, and makes them feel something.

Understanding how people can influence each other, Michelle is also the founder and site administrator of “Cultivate Caring,” a non-profit, online community-building initiative with the goal of helping others learn to cultivate more caring about themselves, others, and the world. Michelle is passionate about making the world a better place through art and education.

Due to Covid restrictions, the TEDx Cole Park event will take place virtually. For more information and to register, please visit tedxcorpuschristi.com/colepark.
