Biography

My interests are focused on the interactions between social and ecological change in rural areas in Latin America and in the U.S. West, and their implications for resilient social-ecological systems. Through an environmental / natural resource sociological lens, I'm particularly interested in community-based and collaborative natural resource management. My approach is interdisciplinary, participatory, theoretically-informed and attendant of issues relating to local livelihoods and contexts. Related interests include the construction of science, knowledge, and policy as well as the potential of (social) networked environmental governance.
