The 2019 Induction Ceremony for CSU Department of Sociology’s chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta Sociological Honor Society (AKD) will feature Keynote Speaker Dr. Robert J. Antonio, Professor, Sociology Department at The University of Kansas, and a distinguished member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Dr. Antonio has published three books and 108 academic articles on sociological theory, reactionary tribalism, environmental sociology, globalization, and climate change. He is a prominent sociologist who has profoundly shaped understanding of key issues in social theory since the 1970s. He is a highly regarded teacher, having won eight university-wide teaching awards, including the Chancellor’s Club Award for Career Teaching Excellence. His scholarship and teaching have inspired countless undergraduate students to become sociology majors and nurtured the intellectual development of hundreds of social scientists in the United States and the world.
