Dr. Shawn Bingham
Honors Program Director, CSU
Research Interests: Sociology of Culture, Humor as Social Agency, Disability, Small Housing Movement
Dr. Bingham’s central goal has been to create undergraduate experiences that thread together four core pillars: knowledge creation, interdisciplinary inquiry, community engagement, and global citizenship. Very important to CSU’s mission of access and inclusive excellence, he has worked to create more diverse learning environments and improve diversity in Honors programs.
Dr. Steven P. Dandaneau
Associate Provost, CSU
Associate Professor
Executive Director, Association for Undergraduate Education at Research Universities (UERU)
Research Interests: Social Theory, Political Economy, Community Sociology, Higher Education
Dr. Dandaneau was a first-generation college student who grew up in Flint, Michigan, and was fortunate to attend a nearby land-grant university. There, with the help of faculty and other educators, he
began a lifelong process of trying to make sense of what was happening around him (and within him as well). Still doing that, despite whatever appearances he may convey.
