PhD Candidate, University of South Florida

“Examining the role of sociocultural factors in women’s definitions and experiences of violence and victimization”

  • minoritized and marginalized communities
  • sociocultural processes and behavior
  • cyber victimization

Vanessa Centelles is a PhD candidate in the department of Criminology at the University of South Florida. Her research uses an intersectional framework to examine how sociocultural factors inform criminal behaviors, victimization experiences, and public perceptions of crime. Her most recent work has appeared in Journal of Sex Research and American Journal of Criminal Justice, among other outlets.
