Prior to enrolling as a graduate student at CSU in the Department of Sociology, Rin earned their B.S. in Sociology at the University of Idaho where they developed an interest in environmental sociology and political economy. Specifically, Rin is interested in exploring how society conceptualizes sustainability while perpetuating the status quo of an environmentally destructive socioeconomic paradigm. In pursuit of radical and revolutionary hope, Rin also enjoys exploring future political imagniaries that champion system change through approaches like radical ecologies, critical sustainabilities, and degrowth. Outside of academics, Rin enjoys sculpting, painting, biking, and attempting to appease their cat's voracious need for attention.
