Lynn Hempel is Associate Professor of Sociology. She earned her M.Sc. in Sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science and her Ph.D in Sociology from Duke University. Her research focuses on the processes through which social boundaries and social inequalities are produced and maintained, with emphases on race, ethnicity, and religion. Her work has been published in Social Forces, Social Problems, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, and International Journal of Comparative Sociology.
