Biography
I have been affiliated with the department of sociology for over 20 years and teach courses in Health & Medicine, Classical and Contemporary Sociological Theory, Political Sociology, Sociology of the Body, and the Senior Capstone Seminar. My research and scholarship interests revolve around technology, the environment, and social wellbeing. Currently, I am investigating the environmental implications of tourism in the Antarctic, as well as critically assessing the recent developments related to generative Artificial Intelligence. In 2022, I was honored to be a member of the faculty for the Semester at Sea spring voyage. My partner and I live in an 1895 farm house, where we enjoy being outdoors, playing with our cat Maisie, and digging in the dirt.
