Jessica Thrasher visited Washington D.C. in September with HECHO, an advocacy group for Latinos who value our nation’s public lands. In celebration of HECHO’s 10th anniversary and Hispanic Heritage Month, members of HECHO’s Hispanic Conservation Leadership Council traveled to the nation’s capital to advocate for solutions to environmental issues affecting their communities. They met with the Council on Environmental Quality, the Department of the Interior, and members of Congress regarding issues that affect Hispanic communities disproportionately. Hear from Jessica at 1:50 in this video recapping the trip.
Jessica is a Ph.D. student and the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Program Leader at CSU’s Colorado Water Center. Check out her blogpost about recently joining HECHO’s Hispanic Conservation Leadership Council.
