Nefratiri Weeks attended the History of Economics conference held at the University of Toronto in Canada in June 2017. She presented her paper titled: “Using Polanyi’s The Great Transformation to Understand Crises: Beyond the Regulation School and Social Structures of Accumulation Perspectives.”

“I was one of the only presenters at the conference to take a critical approach to market liberalization or to provide a critique of current development paradigms, and my presentation received a positive response. I also met some really great economists from France,” said Weeks.

Weeks is an instructor, research assistant, and PhD student.
