This summer Azmal Hossan began working with the COVID-19 and Food Insecurity interdisciplinary research group, one of the CONVERGE COVID-19 Working Groups for Public Health and Social Sciences Research. The groups’ projects are supported by the National Science Foundation-funded (NSF) Social Science Extreme Events Research (SSEER) network and the CONVERGE facility at the Natural Hazards Center at the University of Colorado Boulder.
As an outcome of his group’s project, Azmal and colleagues recently published a Research Agenda Setting Paper on COVID-19 and Food Insecurity that critically evaluates the existing knowledge on disaster and food security and focuses on the COVID-19 pandemic. The paper also identifies some priority research areas to address existing gaps in this field.
