Dr. Josh Sbicca will share research from the Prison Agriculture Lab. He will discuss the process of translating a first-ever nationwide data set on prison agriculture into maps, multimedia story-telling, and visualizations to interrogate the disciplinary underpinnings of the prison system. More broadly, this gathering will be a space to talk about the challenges and importance of studying up and deconstructing how powerful institutions maintain their authority.
