Professor Emeritus Douglas Murray’s new book, We Can Change the World: Tales from a Generation’s Quest for Peace and Justice (Westview) has won the 2025 Nautilus Better Books for a Better World, Social Change and Social Justice, Silver Medal. The annual Nautilus Prize was created 25 years ago as a means of “honoring books that uplift lives, awaken minds, and ignite social good.” In announcing the awards, the selection committee noted, “Each of these works now stands among a celebrated group of authors whose voices are shaping a more conscious, compassionate, and connected world.”

Professor Murray joins previous awardees Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, Vietnamese monk and peace activist Thich Nhat Hahn, President’s inaugural poet Amanda Gorman, animal rights and autism activist Temple Grandin, and Pulitzer Prize winning novelist Barbara Kingsolver, among others.

On July 17, 2025, Professor Murray was a special guest on the ABC News Radio show, Moments with Marianne, to discuss his book. Listen to the KMET Southern California broadcast recording here. Find links to additional talks and reviews here.
